Hi everyone and welcome to my first Double Review on this blog, today I'll be looking at the MG 1/100 Gundam Epyon and Gundam Deathscythe Hell in Endless Waltz version.

The models that you'll see in the pictures have been totally repainted by me, so the colors of the models are not the original one that you find inside the box.

Ciao a tutti e benvenuti alla mia prima Doppia Recensione su questo blog, oggi darò un'occhiata ai Mg 1/100 Gundam Epyon and Gundam Deathscythe Hell nella loro versione Endless Waltz.

I modelli che osserverete nelle foto sono stati totalmente ricolorati, i colori che riscontrerete non saranno quindi gli stessi presenti all'interno delle confezioni.

First off i wanna say that the frame inside the models is pretty much the same, so the information i will write about is the same for both models except when I write the specific name of the model.

Prima di tutto vorrei precisare che il frame è praticamente lo stesso su entrambi i modelli, quindi le informazioni fornite sono le stesse per entrambi tranne quando si fa il nome specifico del modello.

Let's start by reviewing the single parts of both kits:

Inizio recensendo le singole parti:

CHEST:

The torso is really compact and slim, the cockpit is in the center of it but nice hided, the color separation is really good and the clear stickers make it like a real war machine; proportions are really good and the Katoki design is really evident, the Epyon's torso has a big camera on the front meanwhile the D-Hell's one hasn't any camera.
The torso is on a ball joint so it's possible to rotate it and allows little movemens forward an back.

Il torso è molto compatto e snello, il cockpit è collocato al centro ma ben mimetizzato, la suddivisione dei colori è molto buona e gli adesivi danno un'impressione realistica da mezzo militare; anche le proporzioni sono molto buone e il design di Katoki è evidente, sul torso dell'Epyon è presente una grande camera nella parte centrale mentre il D-Hell ne è totalmente sprovvisto.
Il torso è collocato su un ball joint, è quindi possibile muovelo lateralmente, ruotarlo e spostarlo avanti e indietro.

BACKPACK:

The backpack on both model is very important and bulky, in my opinion both backpack are 30% of the totally, on the Epyon the backpack is really detailed and movable, the wings could be totally opened and posed in almost every angle; the D-Hell's one is very large but not really detailed, by the way if you use dry transfer and sticker you eliminate the proble, the wings of the D-Hell could be opened or closed and could be use as a cloack.
These backpacks are really good but both have a great defect, both are really back heavy, if you use a base you'll not have any problem but if you want to put the model without a base you have to be carefull or it will fall.

Il backpack su entrambi i modelli è importante e ingombrante, onestamente ritengo che il backpack di entrambi i modelli ne costituisca il 30% del totale, il backpack dell'Epyon è molto dettagliato e completamente semovibile, le ali sono totalmente apribili e possono essere poste in qualsiasi angolazione; quello del D-Hell è vasto ma non molto dettagliato, tuttavia applicando gli adesivi e le decal si ovvia al problema, le ali possono essere aperte o chiuse oppure utilizzate come una sorta di mantello protettivo.

WAIST:

The frame of the waist is the same on both models, almost all the chest armor has a frame, lateral waist armor of the Epyon has a little hole that allow to put the generetor of the sword on the side that you prefer, the Epyon's waist is really squared in harmony with the design of the mobile suit meanwhile the D-Hell's one is really spiky, like all the model's armor, all the amor part of the waist are movable and are connected to the frame with a ball joint; the legs are connected to the waist means two connectors on the side of the waist.

Il frame della vita è lo stesso su entrambi i modelli, quasi ogni parte della corazza della vita è dotata di frame, quella laterale dell'Epyon ha un foro su entrambi i lati permettendo l'allocazione del generatore della spada su quello preferito, la vita dell'Epyon è squadrato, in armonia con il design del modello mentre quella del D-Hell è molto spigoloso come, per l'appunto, tutta la sua corazza.
Tutte le parti della vita sono semovibili e connesse al frame tramite dei ball joint; le gambe sono connesse alla vita tramite connettori posti ai lati della stessa.

ARMS:

Arms are really solid and posable, they are really different on each model but the frame inside is completely the same, each arm is really detailed and posable; on each arm of the Epyon there is a hole in which you can put the shield, so you can decide to put it on the arm that you prefer.
On all Gundam Wing EW Master Grade model there is the same kind of hand, there is the mobile thumb and the palm, the other fingers are interchangeable and on each model you'll find the open palm, the close fist or the hand with the peg to keep the weapon on each hand, so you'll have a nice selection of hand poses; the hand are fixed to the arm with a nice ball joint and there is a little wrist movement meanwhile the arms are fixed to the chest with a connectos (be careful if you want to paint the model because the arms connectors are a little fragile).

Le braccia sono solide e posabili, differenti su ogni modello nonostante il frame similare, ogni braccio dettagliato e semovibile; quelli dell'Epyon sono provvisti di un foro su cui è posizionabile uno scudo, sul lato che preferite.
Su tutti i modelli della linea Wing ci sono gli stessi set di mani, avete quindi una vasta selezione per la posabilità; queste ultime sono fissate alle braccia tramite dei ball joint che permettono il movimento del polso mentre le braccia sono fissate al petto tramite connettori laterali (attenzione alla colorazione in quanto rende questi ultimi molto fragili).

HEAD:

This is my favourite pars of both model kits because i really love Katoki's head design, both heads are really detailed amd compact; in proportion the head are little but it is for Katoki's design, the camera on the front and on the back is a single clear piece and if you paint it with a clear color you can see through it with a beautiful effect.
The neck is on a double joint that connect it to the head and to the chest, the neck allows a rotation of 360° of the head, they can also look up and down and move forward and back.
I really like color separation on the D-Hell head, there is yeallow, black, light gray and a little of red al put together with a very nice result.

La testa è il punto forte di entrambi i modelli in quanto mi piace molto il tocco di Katoki per quanto le riguarda, entrambe sono compatte ma dettagliate e il tocco del progettista si nota rendendole piccole in proporzione ai corpi; i visori sul davanti e il retro sono costituiti da un unico pezzo trasparente che, se colorato utilizzando colori trasparenti, permette il passaggio della luce ottenendo un effetto stupendo.
Le teste sono fissate al collo tramite un doppio ball joint che è connesso a sua volta al torace e permette una rotazione completa e un movimento in avanti e indietro.
Mi piace molto la separazione dei colori sulla testa del D-Hell.

LEGS:

Legs are complex and simple at the same time: they are complex because you can pose them in any sort of pose and angle that you want, the knees has a nice angle of movement and the legs a nice bend of movement; meanwhile legs are simple cause are composed by few parts and, maybe for this reason, they are a little fragile; the hanging to the waist is really secure but pose them with care.

Le gambe sono complesse e semplici allo stesso tempo: complesse in quanto posabili in ogni angolazione e apertura, le ginocchia hanno un buon raggio di movimento, mentre le gambe hanno in generale un ottima angolo di movimento.
Sono semplici in quanto composte da poche parti e, forse per questa motivazioni, sono fragili, le connessioni con la vita sono molto salde, ma posizionatele con cura.

ACCESSORIES, STICKERS, ETC:

Like all Katoki's designed models this two came with a lot of small clear stickers and dry transfers (Epyon a lot more than D-Hell), so inside the box you will find a paper of clear stickers, dry transfers and metallic stickers for eyes and camera.
About the weapons the models came just with the weapon that you see in the pictures, Epyon is a meele designed war machine so it uses just the large beam swords, the shield and the whip, no vulcan, no rifles, no rocket launcher or some other, same with the D-Hell with the difference of the little vulcan at the sides of the head.
This could be a disadvantage for the posability or the battle situation but, if you watched Endless Waltz OAV you know that Gundam Wing mobile suits use just the weapon that you see in the pictures.

Come tutti i modelli progettati da Katoki troverete nella confezione due foglietti, uno di adesivi trasparenti e uno di decal a secco molto fitti (sull'Epyon ne dovrete applicare un numero maggiore).
Per quanto riguarda le armi, i modelli hanno indotazione solamente quelle che potete vedere nelle foto, l'Epyon è un mezzo a mobilità elevata progettato per il combattimento ravvicinato quindi sprovvisto totalmente di armi da fuoco, il D Hell è praticamente identico se si escludono i piccoli cannoni vulcan posizionati ai lati della testa.
Questo può essere uno svantaggio per ricreare la varietà di situazioni di combattimento, ma se avete seguito la serie televisiva e gli OAV sapete che le armi che vedete nelle foto sono quelle sfoggiate dai mobile suit nella serie animata.

FINAL VERDICT:
I really like these two models, they are compact but detailed, posable and solid; Bandai use the same frame on both mobile suit so the building of them is simple but funny, I will buy all the models of this serie to complete my "Wing Wave", I reccomend these kits if you like the serie, the design or even if you are a beginner because they are really simple to do but they give you a great satisfaction when finished.

Questi due modelli mi hanno fatto un'impressione sinceramente molto positiva, sono compatti ma dettagliati, posabili e solidi, la Bandai ha utilizzato lo stesso frame su entrambi (ma anche su tutti gli altri MG della linea Wing), quindi il costruirli risulta facile ma molto divertente, ho intenzione di completare l'"Onda Wing" acquistando e costruendo i modelli mancanti in quanto mi piacciono molto, raccomando l'acquisto a chi è alle prime armi oppure semplicemente a chi piace la serie o il design dei mobile suit in quanto, come ho già sottolineato, sono molto semplici da assemblare ma in grado di dare una soddisfazione molto grande una volta ultimati.

MY CUSTOM WORK: I totally repainted both oh these models using an airbrush and paint the detail with a normal brush, I used a mix of Tamiya paint for the colors for the armor, Alclad Stainless Steel for the frame and Mr. Color fluorescent green for eyes and beam weapons, I applied some pre shading on both models and applied all the dry transfers and clear stickers.
The pictures were taken with a Nikon D5000 by mi girlfriend, please forgive me if i made some mistakes writing this review and if you have some questions or advice notice me with a comment, enjoy my double review!

Ho ricolorato totalmente entrambi i modelli utilizzando un aerografo e pitturando i dettagli con un normale pennello, ho utilizzato un misto di acrilici Tamiya per i colori della corazza, l'Alclad Stainless Steel per il frame e il verde fluorescente della Mr. Color per occhi e effetti delle armi, ho applicato un leggero pre shading su entrambi i modelli e utilizzato tutti gli adesivi e le decal.
