Sandrock W.I.P.

As I promise here I am with all the news on my MG Sandrock, i finished all white parts and i'm painting yellow and gray ones, I found a new Tamiya color called XF-84 Dark Iron, it is actually becomed one of my favourite colors of all time.
As always i made some shades on white parts using Tamiya XF-66 Light Grey, I used a normal white instead a flat one, I also made some orange pre shading on yellow parts using a Tamiya X-6 Orange; for the final flat cote I tried an Humbrol Matt cott for airbrush, I like it but i need more experience to understand how to use it well.

MG Gundam XXXG-01H Heavyarms Review

Hi everyone and welcome to my review of the MG Heavyarms 1/100 scale, first off I want to say that I repainted totally the kit, so the colours You'll see in the pictures are the colours that I used
(by the way i made a list of colors in my W.i.p. topics)ò

_______________________________________________

Let's start by reviewing the single parts of the kit:

TORSO:

This section of the model is very sqared and detailed, it contains almost the colors of this Gundam: white, yellow, orange, grey and blue; the color separation is really good and stickers and decals worsk very well on it.
The frame allows to open the panel on the front of the torso to show the giants vulcan inside, unfortunately the mechanism that allows this movement is very very fragile and if repainted the risk of brekage is high, for this reason i couldn't take picture of the full open Heavyarms, I apologize.
The torso also presents 2 cannon on the side, the cockpit is central and very easy to open even if you pant all the model.

RATE: 7/10

BACKPACK:

The backpack is very simple and composed by few parts, the 4 thrusters are movable and the 2 section on the sides can bend by 90° amd allow the coupling of the giant beam vulcan and the munition pack.
The empty backpack is pretty simple and small so there's no risk for back heavy of the model.

RATE: 8/10

CHEST:

The chest area is the same of all the MG Gundam of the EW Wing line, it is composed my 2 frontal movable parts of armor (that can be opened to reveal some missiles), 2 lateral parts of armor (than can be also opened) and 2  parts of armor on the back.
The color separation is beautiful and looks very nice.

RATE: 8.5/10

ARMS:

Talking about the arms this model, like all the MG of Wing line, has very nice articulated arms, they have 2 points of bend that allow the arm to move in every position that you want, the head is MG Wing standard hand with the mobile thumb and the interchangeable fingers, the only compain that I have about the hand is that is very difficult to put the vulcan  in hand the first time.
Each arm has a hole that allow the insertion of the shield and the knife, you can put each weapon in each   arm and i think this is great; by the way i really like this arms.

RATE: 8.5/10

HEAD:

I really like the Heavyarms' head, it is very simple and i think that is for that reason that it works very well, it contains 2 little vulcan cannons on the sides and there are also 2 antennas on the side of the head, it is connected to the neck by a ball joint and it allows a range of movemento of 360°; this head is an exemple that simple things are the greatest.

RATE: 9.5/10

LEGS:

Also the legs are really simple but very nice, they are very solid and the articulations allow every pose that your head can imagine, the knee articulation is very good and allows a great angle of bend of the leg meanwhile the polycaps that hold together legs and wait allows a little rotation forward and back, there are 2 missile pods on each leg and they can be opened to reveal a lot of missiles inside.
About the colors the legs are mostly white except for the feet that are red, I really like feet design squared and short.

RATE: 9/10

ACCESSORIES, STICKERS, ETC:

This model is full of accessories, it has: the Beam Vulcan, the Shield (than can be putted on each arm or directly on the vulcan)and last but not least the Army Knife thet I think that is very nice.
The model comes with a little sheet of decal and a medium sheet of stickers, I think that both them works and looks very nice on the model giving it a realistic and military look.
The model also comes with a particular arm that contain the beam saber, with this arm you can recreate a very famous scene of the anime, I don't think you will use that but is nice that you can choose.
Nice work Bandai!

RATE: 9.5/10

FINAL VERDICT:

This model is the best one of the Wing line that I assembled so far, it is very simple and maybe for this reason it is the more solid of all.
It is also very posable with a base or without you can create all the poses that you can imagine; if you like Gundam, missiles and big weapons you must have this one in your collection!

FINAL RATE: 9/10

MY CUSTOM WORKI totally repainted this model using an airbrush and detailed it with a normal brush, I used Tamiya, Mr.Color and Alclad color, applied a light pre shading on the model, used the decals, the stickers and flat clear coat.
The picture were taken with a Nikon D5000 by my girlfriend, if you have some questions or advice, notice me with a comment, enjoy the review!

On my Flickr gallery you can find a huge photo gallery of the model,
